There are 75 golf clubs, courses or resorts with Nicklaus Design amenities up for World Golf Awards—spread across 23 countries and 22 states—so it is no wonder that Nicklaus Design’s founder Jack Nicklaus is also in the running for the contest’s “Golf Course Designer of the Year.”
The general public can vote online until 27 September at worldgolfawards.com. An Awards Ceremony will be held in Portugal on 7 November.
Celebrating and rewarding excellence in golf tourism, world-class courses and golf destinations, the World Golf Awards are part of the World Travel Awards, currently celebrating their 22nd anniversary as “the Oscars of the travel industry.”
Most notably, TPC at Baha Mar, which opened in 2015 to become Nicklaus Design’s first golf course in The Bahamas, is up for the competition’s “World’s Best New Golf Course” award.
