Adjustable Accu-length clubs – perfect for growing kids

12.05am 8th October 2007 - Corporate

Rudy Duran is a worldwide ambassador for Accu-Length, who have developed sets of golf clubs which can be adjusted as the child grows without the need for expensive replacements every few months.

Rudy said, “Clubs should be lengthened every time a child grows an inch-and-a-half and that is the great thing about the Accu-Length clubs. I used to work regularly with Tiger Woods’ dad Earl on changing clubs and cutting them for him as he grew because you aren’t going to be able to develop a good swing if you have clubs that don’t fit.

“It’s like shoes. You are going to develop bad walking habits if you buy a pair of size tens and then have to grow into them. Every time he grew we used to lengthen Tiger’s clubs and in that environment great players can emerge.”

Accu-Length uses shafts which can be lengthened by ultra-light spacers using screw-thread grips and clubheads to last for an average five seasons. A range of sets to suit different starting ages are available.

UK Sports Services won the UK and Ireland distribution rights for Accu-Length at the PGA Merchandise Show at Orlando in January, where Accu-Length picked up the coveted Product Ingenuity Award.

Following successful introductions at the Scottish and London Golf Shows, UK Sports Services met with the directors of YMG and received their endorsement of Accu-length as a recommended junior product in the UK and Ireland.
