Callaway Golf Europe pulls out of Golf Europe 2000

7.00pm 21st July 2000 - Corporate - This story was updated on Monday, June 27th, 2011

Callaway Golf Europe Ltd, a subsidiary of Callaway Golf Company, announced this afternoon that it has decided not to participate at this year’s Golf Europe 2000, the 8th International Trade Fair being held Sunday, 24th – Tuesday, 26th September in Munich, Germany.

In announcing the move, Patrice Hutin, President of Callaway Golf Europe, said that the company is exploring new venues and programmes to compliment the introduction of new Callaway and Odyssey Golf products.

“We enjoyed and benefited from a long association with the Golf Europe Trade Show”, Hutin said. “However this year we feel we need to pursue a different approach to bringing our new products to the market and Golf Europe does not fit into this strategy.”

“We are looking to set up a programme which will meet our customers’ needs more effectively and which will provide a suitable platform to launch our exciting and innovative 2001 product range. Details of these plans will be announced in due course.”

According to the most recent press release from the organisers of “Première Golf”, Callaway Golf is still expected to attend this new event to be held in Marbella from 14th to 17th November.
