Troon Golf®, the leader in upscale golf course management, development and marketing, has announced that two of its illustrious resorts are preparing to host two European Tour events in the coming weeks. The Oceânico Victoria Course, Vilamoura is set to host the Portugal Masters 15th – 18th October and La Quinta Golf & Country Club is set to welcome the Benahavis Senior Masters 16th – 18th October.

The award winning Arnold Palmer designed course in the Algarve will host the Portugal Masters for a third straight year and has cemented itself as a firm favourite with the Tour Professionals and the European Tour alike. The event will welcome some of Europe’s elite, including three time Major winner Padraig Harrington, Lee Westwood and Retief Goosen, who will all attempt to master the par 72 Championship course.

“It is always a great test when the world’s best golfers come to compete on courses we manage. The Portugal Masters has always provided a great platform to showcase the Oceânico Victoria course and demonstrate the quality on offer. The players are always rich in praise for the condition of the course and how the event is run, further testament to the dedication and hard work of all involved,” commented Bruce Glasco, Managing Director Troon Golf, Europe, Middle East & Africa.

La Quinta Golf & Country Club will welcome the European Tour Benahavis Senior Masters on the 16th – 18th October for the first time. La Quinta Golf & Country Club has been flourishing under the guidance of Troon Golf since their partnership was announced earlier this year. With some of the most experienced minds in the industry working with the ownership at La Quinta, the anticipation surrounding the event is rife.

“Everyone at La Quinta is very much looking forward to welcoming the European Senior Tour here to our club; to have such great names as Piñero, Rocca and Torrance playing in a fully sanctioned European Senior Tour event here at La Quinta is a major boost for our golf club and all our members,” stated Vice-President of La Quinta, Borja Pascual Gomez-Cuetara.

With Ryder Cup Legends Sam Torrance and Costantino Rocca competing, the event looks set to attract good crowds and much interest. The par 72 Championship course will present a stern test, not only with its tremendous layout, but also the condition of the surfaces. Significant investment was recently made in a variety of state-of-the-art specialized machinery to help further establish the quality of the golf course and cementing its position as one of the premium golf destinations in Europe. La Quinta Golf and Country Club is located in the Costa del Sol just outside Marbella, Spain providing an ideal location for the event and for visitors alike.

The fact that two of Troon Golf’s European managed facilities will be hosting two major European Tour events in the same week is further testament to not only the expertise and commitment within Troon Golf and their resort partners, but the rate at which Troon Golf has expanded in the EMEA regions. With some of the very best minds in agronomy and operations, striving to create unrivalled surfaces and services, quality and prestige remain innate features underlying the ethos at Troon Golf.

Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, Troon Golf EMEA is committed to developing Troon Golf’s presence in Europe, Middle East and Africa. This rapidly expanding division now oversees operations at 36 courses in 13 countries including Dubai, Portugal, Spain and England with further expansion planned across all regions.
