For another year MTS Group has been on hand to support the annual Have a Heart charity golf day at Newcastle’s fantastic Close House Golf Course. The star studded event featured over 50 celebrities including Ant & Dec, Alan Shearer, Lee Westwood, Ronan Keating and Iain Wright to name just a few, all who gave up their time to turn up and support this fantastic cause. Close House hosts a number of charity golf events throughout the year on its two 18 hole courses, however the Have a Heart golf day is certainly the largest.
This year’s golf day featured over 100 Club Car golf and utility vehicles with an additional 90 event hire buggy’s and Carryall utility vehicles having been supplied by MTS Group for use on the day, making this their largest ever event hire. Every guest had the shared use of a Precedent golf buggy for the day and a fleet of Carryall utility vehicles were used for ferrying stewards and other staff around the facility. All of which were shipped in during the week prior from MTS Group’s Birtley Depot with the assistance of other depots in Scotland, Wakefield and Lancashire.
In total this year’s golf day was able to raise over half a million pounds for the Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) who in 2015 were named North East Charity of the Year. This brilliant charity helps children with life threatening heart conditions by supporting both them and their families.
Mick Williamson, Operations Director at MTS Group explained “We at MTS Group are proud to have played a small part in contributing towards this cause by offering a £500 donation. Again for another year we would like to thank all at Close House who contribute towards to success of this event, allowing the money to be raised to help support the CHUF charity.”
