CMM Undertakes ‘Director of Education’ Search

3.13pm 4th July 2014 - Corporate

CMM and CMAE logosColt Mackenzie McNair (CMM), the specialist executive recruitment firm working exclusively in the global golf industry, has been appointed by the Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) to find its new Director of Education.

The role, which replaces the position of Chief Executive Officer, will provide the resource required to match the demand for the organisation’s Management Development Programme, an education pathway that has been developed with assistance from the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA).

Arnaldo Cocuzza, president of the Club Managers Association of Europe, said: “Our vision is to be the leading organisation delivering club management educational programmes, with the relevant certification and accreditation opportunities, to all of Europe’s club managers. Our new Director of Education will lead the development of training courses that will span the whole leisure industry and enable us to form valuable relationships with sports unions.

“CMM is the perfect company to lead this search – it is already a partner of the CMAE and we know its business very well. CMM offers us the opportunity to pinpoint the best candidates for this important role, especially as it is also very active in the club industry.”

The Club Managers Association of Europe (CMAE) is a non-profit making professional association with members involved in the management of sports clubs (golf, tennis, sailing and other sports), health & fitness clubs, leisure, city and dining clubs located throughout Europe.

It provides a forum for the encouragement, development and recognition of education and professionalism in club management.

Richard Wood, director of Colt Mackenzie McNair, commented: “We are proud to support the CMAE at this vital time, and help the organisation in continuing its valuable work in the European leisure industry, a sector CMM deeply understands. The CMAE is very clear about the type of candidate it is looking for – a senior leisure professional with a passion for the club and sports environment – and CMM would, of course, welcome enquiries from interested parties.”

Since CMM was established in 2006, it has become the global market leader for executive search in the golf industry, underpinned by its reputation for delivering professional recruitment services to a host of clubs, resorts, organisations, golf businesses and brands. It has grown significantly and in addition to its headquarters in Berkshire, now has offices in Dubai, Hong Kong and Edinburgh.
