Decathlon hits 18 stores in regulation

Golf simulator company AboutGolf Europe has announced that leading European sports retail group Decathlon has installed a further 12 state of the art indoor golf simulators into stores across Europe bringing the total number in operation to 18.

The first 6 installations included, (Paris, Lille, Madrid (2) and Bilbao) and now have been supplemented by installations in the UK (London), Spain (Barcelona, the country’s largest store x 2, Malaga, Santander, Cadiz, Alicante) and France (Antibes, Brittany, Tours, Merignac, St. Maximin).

The move continues the company’s long term strategic plan, to introduce leading technology into Decathlon’s golf retail environment. Over the course of the next three years the plan is to install a total of 30 simulators across the company’s 350 stores to assist sales staff provide the highest levels of service to customers looking to purchase new golf clubs.

Commenting on the recent installation in London, Decathlon’s golf department manager James Ilbury said, “We have had the AboutGolf simulator installed for three months now as part of a refurbishment programme to our golf section and have seen club sales increase by between 30-50%. It has been an excellent addition allowing us to match customer requirements to the right golf equipment within the indoor environment of the store.”
