Direct Golf UK opens new Huddersfield store & driving range

6.30am 4th September 2007 - Corporate

Direct Golf UK has opened a new store and driving range in Huddersfield. The site enjoys a prime position just off the busy Leeds Road (A62) next to the Galpharm Stadium.

This becomes DGUK’s second store in Huddersfield to compliment the superstore on Leeds Road. The company took over the lease at the site on 1st August and announced its presence there with a ‘super demo day’ on 1st September that was supported by the leading equipment manufacturers.

The event was promoted with direct mail, text and email invitations to DGUK’s substantial customer database in the surrounding area that has been built up over the past sixteen years. Neil Bell, retail sales director of DGUK, said, “The fantastic consumer response and footfall at this event was further evidence of golfers’ enthusiasm for what Direct Golf UK is all about – choice, value and world class customer service.”

The new location boasts a 30 bay floodlit driving range with power tees, a 2,000 sq ft retail store with demo centre where customers can try the latest equipment from the leading brands and receive expert advice from six on site PGA professionals. The store is open from 9am to 9pm Mon-Fri and 9am to 7pm Sat-Sun. The full address is Direct Golf UK, Stadium Way, Huddersfield, HD1 6PG. Tel: 01484 452564 or email stadium@direct-golf.co.uk

John Andrew, PGA professional and managing director of DGUK, said, “It has been a long term desire to open a driving range facility in the company’s home town location of Huddersfield. We are very excited by this opportunity that not only eliminates previous retail competition but also enables DGUK to offer driving range and demo facilities to golfers in the Huddersfield area.”
