Drive-in Porsche

German car company Porsche believe they have made the fastest driver in golf.

The PD-901 driver, which looks as sleek and powerful as Porsche’s sports cars, was unveiled at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando after being used by Steve Pate during last September’s Ryder Cup match.

The titanium head has the classic pear shape of traditional persimmon drivers and Porsche have designed a Windtunnel Sole which was sculpted to improve airflow on the critical mass areas of the head.

The wind tunnel testing took place in Porsche’s facility near Stuttgart, the sports car’s original home. Porsche’s design engineers found that by incorporating a textured surface to appropriate areas of the head and tip portion of the shaft, turbulence is reduced and stability improves.
