ECCO Golf restructures UK business

12.02am 22nd September 2003 - Corporate

ECCO has decided to restructure its golf business in the UK, which means ECCO will take on the selling and distribution itself.
ECCO entered the golf market in the UK in 2001 with assistance from Cotswold. ECCO has been pleased with market reaction to the ECCO golf range. There has now been a professional and amicable split between Cotswold and ECCO.
Over a period of five years, ECCO has invested significantly in the golf business globally and particularly in product development. With ECCO’s other product portfolio, it has always been the strategy and objective to run the selling and distribution within the company’s own in-house organization.
Since the Rank Mark survey was conducted in the USA in 2002, positioning ECCO as “the world’s best golf shoes”, ECCO’s golf business has been taken to new heights in several European as well as North American markets. ECCO believes that there is still a vast and unexploited potential in the UK.
In 1963 Karl Toosbuy founded ECCO in Denmark to carry out his dream of making comfortable shoes and today 9,000 employees continue to uphold the vision in a global company with direct subsidiaries in Europe, the Far East and North America and partners all over the world.
