Fletcher modelFletcher Leisure Group, the owners of the Sunice and AUR Golf brands and licensees of the Tommy Hilfiger Golf Collection and Bridgestone Golf has been purchased by a private Canadian investment group.

The new company is called Fletcher Sports Brand Inc and is trading with immediate effect.

The company will continue to be headquartered in Montreal, with its European business, Fletcher Europe Limited, remaining under the leadership of Managing Director, Jonathan Camp, at its Essex headquarters.

“An injection of capital was needed to meet our expansion plans and to elevate our brands. With this in place, we as a group have an exciting future ahead,” commented Jonathan Camp.

European demand for all of the Fletcher’s brands has grown year on year since the company established its base in the UK. The team’s focus will now turn to delivering SS14 orders in a timely manner.

“We appreciate that the protracted nature of negotiations to complete the change of ownership in Canada has been a cause for concern amongst our customers. We are sincerely grateful for their patience and ongoing support. We will be working hard to minimize disruption to our deliveries of Spring 2014 orders. The European team is in a position to move business forward once more and with great staff and great brands I am positive about the future,” says Camp.

All of the licenses and warranties owned by the former business have been transferred to the new company, allowing Fletcher Europe Limited to continue to supply Tommy Hilfiger and Gore products.
