Foremost’s Spring Workshops were a huge success once again this year, with a total of over 250 members attending at golf clubs all over the United Kingdom.
“We are delighted to report that so many members attended this year’s Workshops and judging by the feedback that we have received so far, they have been a huge success,” said Peter Durham, Foremost’s Head of Membership Services, who hosted the Workshops together with his team of Regional Business Development Consultants, David Murch, Matt Lacey, Steve Bird, Charlie Hartley and Kevin Stables.
“It‘s quite clear that our members realise they need to learn new skills in order to thrive in the current economic climate and the Workshops give them the perfect opportunity to share “Best Practice” and develop with the help of our experts,” said Durham.
“We take the education of our members very seriously which is why we organise these Spring Workshops and our local Regional Workshops later on in the year. It’s all part of the help and support that Foremost provides.
“Each attendee goes away with a USB stick packed full of ideas to stimulate their businesses and that alone makes attending a Workshop worthwhile.”
The theme of this year’s Workshops was “Success is in Your Hands” which involved attendees listening to a series of presentations designed to improve all aspects of their business lives.
There was also instruction on how to create a successful work-life balance and illustrations of how Foremost’s increasingly-popular EMP programme has helped members improve their turnover and profit margins.
“We’re lucky at Foremost because we have a lot of extremely talented PGA professionals who provide a fantastic range of services for their members. The EMP programme has proved itself to be the perfect vehicle to communicate those services to their members,” said Durham.
“Lewis Hamilton isn’t an expert mechanic but he’s surrounded by people who provide him with a car that gives him the chance to become the F1 World Champion “Our EMP programme is the same. Most Foremost members aren’t experts in marketing, but the EMP programme gives them access to people who are experts in this field and who can help them to communicate more successfully with their customers.
“It’s a no brainer really,” added Durham. “We provide the expertise to market your business that frees up the time for you to do what you do best, be it coaching, retailing, club fitting or a combination of all three.”
Stuart Mason, the Head Professional at Welwyn Garden City Golf Club in Hertfordshire, is a new member of the EMP and attended his first Spring Workshop at his home club.
“I found it very useful and genuinely wish I had started to attend a few years ago,” he said. “We got a massive amount of useful information and I think I will be using the USB stick for the rest of the year.
John Sharkey, the Head Professional at The Links GC, regularly attends the Workshops and believes they provide him with an invaluable source of expert advice. “This year I brought my team as each year I come, I get two or three useful nuggets of information which I can take home and adapt for use at my club. It’s also great to meet fellow members and to learn first-hand the new initiatives that Foremost has introduced to help us drive our businesses forwards.”
“I’d give the Workshop I visited a score of 10 out of 10,” concluded Sharkey. “The content was first class and I left feeling reinvigorated and ready for the season ahead.”
