Great event exposure for PING Collection

1.00am 24th November 2006 - Corporate

PING Collection has enjoyed tremendous success and great exposure during its first foray into major golf tournaments at both the Barclays Scottish Open at Loch Lomond and the WGC-American Express Championship at The Grove this year.
As Official Merchandise Retailer at the 2006 Barclays Scottish Open, PING Collection showcased its men’s, women’s and junior 2006 collections and saw a 33% increase on retail business from the previous year. Similar success was also achieved at the WGC- American Express Championship. As the Preferred Clothing Supplier retail sales were up 17% from the 2004 Championship at Mount Juliet, Ireland.
As well as retailing at both events, PING Collection also provided exclusive jackets, jumpers and caps to all 500 marshals per day at the WGC – American Express. Additionally, each of the 235 honorary observers wore PING Collection jackets, shirts and caps.
The success at both these events once again demonstrates the rapid progress PING Collection has made within the British and European markets in recent years.
Simon McGuigan, marketing and operations manager of PING said, “We are delighted to have achieved our goal of building brand awareness and increasing product visibility at two highly prestigious golf tournaments “
Tournament director of the Barclays Scottish Open and WGC – American Express Championship, Peter Adams, added: “PING Collection has demonstrated to us that it has an excellent range of men’s and women’s clothing that is perfectly suited to the high calibre of spectators and volunteers that attended both tournaments.”
