Huxley Golf, the PGA’s official supplier for all-weather golf surfaces, has signed a ground-breaking agreement to distribute its products throughout France, Germany and the Benelux countries.
A new business, Huxley Golf Europe, has been formed in Luxembourg under the direction of Danish golf professional Ole Pedersen and businessman Torben Poulsen.
The pair are targeting golf clubs, teaching academies, hotels and private clients across a large and important new sales territory for Huxley Golf.
Mr Pedersen, a pro since 1989, used to coach Mr Poulsen who expressed interest in having an all-weather putting green installed at his home. They sensed a wider business opportunity and approached Huxley Golf after reading about its international reach on the web.
Mr Pedersen said: “It is an impressive proposition for clients when you tell them that Huxley Golf has supplied all-weather surfaces to courses such as St Andrew’s, Celtic Manor, Wentworth and Carnoustie. Having researched the market very carefully, we have no doubt that Huxley is the number one surface to choose because it is the closest to the reality of natural grass. It offers guaranteed quality in wet or dry weather all year round, something we know golf clubs and other clients want. We are enthusiastic about representing their products and are confident that we can now offer a complete solution for clients requiring top quality all-weather artificial surfaces for golf.”
Mr Pedersen has coached at national level in Denmark and Luxembourg. During his five years as head professional at the Copenhagen Golf Club, he had the honour of teaching Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark. Most recently he has taught at the Le Preisch Academy in France. Fellow Dane Mr Poulsen is a successful businessman in the financial sector who now lives in Luxembourg.
Paul Huxley, Director of Huxley Golf, which has a growing network of distributors in the UK and abroad, said: “The region spanning the Benelux countries and France and Germany has become very important to Huxley Golf. Ole and Torben have the local presence and expertise necessary to position our products successfully in this marketplace. Our new agreement creates a powerful combination of the Huxley Golf brand with Ole and Torben’s business and golfing experience and know-how.”
Huxley Golf provides premier all-weather surfaces for golf around the world. Clients include training and coaching establishments, golf resorts, ranges and academies as well as many well known golf courses including several Open Championship and Ryder Cup venues.
