Apparel companies Lyle and Scott and Sunderland of Scotland have announced the formation of a strategic alliance.

Under the terms of the alliance the two companies will combine their resources to provide the worldwide golf industry with a comprehensive range of leading golf apparel and technical outerwear.

Robert Kimpton, chief executive of Lyle and Scott said, “This strategic partnership represents an ideal marriage for both companies. Lyle and Scott is acknowledged as one of the leading golf lifestyle clothing brands and Sunderland of Scotland is renowned for its expertise in technical rainwear and wind wear. These two great Scottish brands complement one another perfectly and we’re delighted to be working with Warren and the rest of his team”.

Warren Sunderland, chairman of Sunderland of Scotland added, “The partnership with Lyle and Scott opens up an exciting new chapter in the development of our business. Most importantly the combination of our two companies strengthens the proposition that we can offer our customers and provides many new and exciting opportunities for both brands, not least in the growth of our business worldwide”.

Lyle and Scott, based in Hawick, Scotland, designs, manufactures and distributes golf apparel for men and women. The company is also a leading supplier of men’s wear to the retail market and is the European licensee for Bobby Jones.

Sunderland of Scotland, based in Glasgow, manufactures men’s and women’s golf outerwear and is the official supplier to the British PGA and the European Ryder Cup Team. Sunderland has recently hit the headlines with the launch of its new GT Range of younger, technical golf wear to complement its classical Heritage Collection.
