Several Tour players – including two former Ryder Cup stars – have been custom fitted for Lynx clubs following the recent Seniors Open Championship at Royal Porthcawl.

Lynx took its event marketing and demo team to the Rolex-sponsored championship, won by Bernhard Langer, and was inundated with requests from competitors to try their 2014 equipment range.

Other players put Lynx bags in play and more than a dozen players’ caddies also donned Lynx caps as the rejuvenated brand – a major force in the 1990s – was warmly received by the senior players and spectators.

With Lynx Tour ambassador Paul Eales using his new Boom Boom3 driver to record an average driving distance of 300 yards during the event, the club received significant interest on the range.

As a result, two former European Tour winners have taken away custom fitted Boom Boom3 drivers. Another multiple Tour winner is currently trying out a Swash By Lynx putter, designed by Harold Swash.

Said Lynx Golf CFO, Stephanie Zinser: “We were absolutely bowled over by the reception the senior players gave Lynx at the championship. Many of them recognised the brand from its Major-winning days and were very interested to see it back on Tour. And a lot of players came over to try the Boom Boom 3 driver as they’d seen Paul Eales hitting it so far. One player instantly increased his driving distance by 15 yards with the BB3 and couldn’t wait to take away a model to try.”

Spectators also enjoyed the Lynx demo area, with crowds at times facing a 20-minute queue to try the 2014 collection.

And in the baking weather, several high profile club professionals and their caddies happily wore Lynx caps on the course during the championship as Lynx further cemented its reputation as a brand that works closely with ‘green grass’ accounts.

Lynx is the Official Golf Club of the Ricoh Women’s British Open to 2016 and continues to establish itself as the most forward-thinking and exciting equipment brand in Europe.
