Masters Golf gets personal

8.00am 30th November 2005 - Corporate

The Masters Golf Company has just announced a buy-out of personalised golf product experts RDA Smith. RDA Smith will continue to run out of their premises in Newport Pagnall, but will bring an excellent addition to Masters’ business, whilst they will themselves benefit from Masters’ larger scale of operation.
“It’s a perfect complement to our existing business, as we are best known for accessories, and now we have acquired the capacity to add further value via personalisation,” said Colin Christison, sales director. “And it’s another string to the bow of our one-stop-shop, which is highly valued by our customers.”
Masters now cover up to ten major product groups, including clubs, clothing and junior equipment, but remain strongest in the accessories market where they enjoy well over 30% of UK market share.
RDA Smith, meanwhile, have almost twenty five years of experience in the personalised goods sector of the golf market, and offer a comprehensive range of high quality logo products including brassware, gift sets and leather goods (such as bag tags and key rings); ball markers and money clips; luggage, towels, hats and umbrellas.
“It’s a great opportunity to take the company forward and benefit from Masters’ bigger distribution base and logistics,” said Bob Smith, former owner of RDA Smith, who is currently acting as a consultant to Masters.
