PowaKaddy, the No.1 electric trolley brand, has announced an impressive first half of 2016, with overall sales of its award-winning trolleys, bags, batteries and accessories up 14% in value from last year.

Bolstered by successful launches of a new Freeway range and super-intelligent TOUCH® model, PowaKaddy has enjoyed an 11% increase in the value of trolleys sold during the first six months of this year. The pioneering brand’s double digit growth follows the recent news its Freeway franchise had reached half a million sales since the introduction of the first Freeway model back in 1999.

A standout product for the Kent-based brand has been the top-of-the-range FW7s trolley – sales of which have generated 30% more value than its FW7 predecessor.

In addition to PowaKaddy’s high-performance trolley range, this year has also seen the unveiling of the brand’s biggest ever cart bag line, helping to generate an increase of 11% in the value of bag sales. Featuring four different models, the PowaKaddy cart bag stable now includes the waterproof Dri Edition for use in the most testing of conditions.

“There are not many golf brands that can point to double digit growth, but we’re equally proud of the high margins we’ve been able to offer retailers at a time when rounds played are down,” commented John DeGraft-Johnson, PowaKaddy Chairman. “The success of the brand particularly over the last few years is a real testament to our trade partners who continue to do a fantastic job of promoting PowaKaddy products.

“The response to our 2016 range has exceeded even our expectations,” said DeGraft-Johnson. “With engineered simplicity, the FW3 remains the most popular trolley in the range by volume, but we’re seeing more golfers upgrading to the FW5 and FW7s models, whilst the TOUCH has also been popular.

“The increasing number of trolley-users opting for Lithium batteries has also played an important part in growth this year, with more golfers buying into the 20% extra staying power of PowaKaddy Lithium,” added DeGraft-Johnson.

Each PowaKaddy trolley can be powered by the thinnest Lithium battery on the market, whilst the latest re-engineered lithium-ion battery technology ensures PowaKaddy Lithium delivers 20% more staying power. The innovative Plug ‘n’ Play technology – which ensures golfers don’t have to connect any fiddly wires when slotting into the battery tray – has played a significant part in propelling PowaKaddy Lithium sales.

All four electric trolleys boast a bespoke engineered low-profile PowaFrame® chassis that ensures extra strength and robustness, reduces overall weight and allows for one of the simplest and strongest 3-way folding systems on the market.
