ProQuip Golf, one of the world’s leading innovators of lightweight golf weatherwear, has been selected as an Official Licensee of Ryder Cup Europe for the 2016 and 2018 Ryder Cup matches.
Under the terms of the license agreement, ProQuip will produce a range of Official Merchandise for The 2016 Ryder Cup at Hazeltine, Minnesota, USA and The 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National, Paris, France.
The clothing collections will include golf outerwear – waterproof jackets, trousers and wind tops – premium water repellent knitwear and shirts.
Official ProQuip Ryder Cup Merchandise will be available to the public through a range of approved retail channels – including PGA Professional stockists – leading off-course retailers and online at www.rydercup.com through to the 2018 match.
The Scottish clothing company has enjoyed one of the longest and most successful relationships with The Ryder Cup.
ProQuip has previously served as a Preferred Team Supplier to 20 Ryder Cup Teams, both European and American, over the course of its relationship since it was first chosen to outfit Jack Nicklaus’ American Team at Muirfield Village in 1983.
Russell Brooks, general manager, ProQuip Golf, said: “ProQuip is delighted to have successfully bid to become an Official Licensee of Ryder Cup Europe in 2016 and 2018.
“The event is simply the finest and most prestigious team competition in the world of golf and our long standing association with The Ryder Cup is a source of great pride for our business.
“We look forward to developing more outstanding products to be enjoyed by Ryder Cup fans.”
Richard Hills, Ryder Cup Director said: “Ryder Cup Europe is delighted to welcome ProQuip back to its Official Merchandise programme as one of its valued Official Licensees. We are confident that its range of Ryder Cup product will continue to be as successful as it was in 2014.”
ProQuip was one of the most sought after brands on sale at The 2014 Ryder Cup at Gleneagles, Scotland, when it was Preferred Team Supplier of weatherwear to Paul McGinley’s winning Team.
ProQuip’s waterproof and windproof clothing was so popular that it sold out on three successive days and had to be replenished overnight to meet unprecedented demand.
“ProQuip is thrilled to again add its trademark brand of high performance lightweight golf clothing to a select list of Official Licensees associated with this iconic event,” added Brooks.
