TaylorMade No.1 Driver in Golf

TaylorMade Golf Company, renowned for innovations in performance-enhancing golf equipment, led the way at the recent US PGA Championship claiming the No.1 Driver* with over 35% of the field playing TaylorMade, including the SLDR Driver taking the No.1 spot in the model count.
Meanwhile, on this side of the pond, from one PGA Championship to another, TaylorMade Golf became the No.1 Driver brand** played at this year’s all-important Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship at Blairgowrie. This secured an impressive 34% of the field, whilst the SLDR drove to the No.1 model with 28 in play (19.4% of the entire field). This is the first year that TaylorMade clinched the top spot at this tournament and represents a big turnaround from previous years.
“In a strong fought field of PGA professionals, we are hugely proud to see that PGA pros are reaping the benefits of ‘lofting up’ with the low and forward centre of gravity in the SLDR driver. To become the No.1 Driver Brand, including the No.1 model played with SLDR at the PGA Professional Championship is a fantastic achievement”, commented Greg Pearse, Marketing Director, EMEA. This adds to an already successful 12 months for SLDR, with 19 Tour wins and an extensive list of awards for the products’ performance.
“In addition to the PGA Pros, we are also excited to see that amateur golfers of all abilities have embraced more loft with SLDR and are enjoying the performance benefits,” Greg continues to comment.
Designed to help a player hit longer/straighter drives by promoting a high launch angle, lower spin-rate (due to the low/forward centre of gravity) and faster ball speed, TaylorMade has been challenging golfers to ‘loft up’ throughout its family of SLDR Metalwoods – a monumental shift in metalwood thinking. Players of all abilities are seeing the benefits of ‘lofting up’ to achieve greater control, more consistency and significant distance gains.
