The Great Turf Company has joined forces with Laverstoke Park Laboratories (‘Known as the University of Organics’) in a mission to reduce chemical dependency and optimise turf health by natural means via ‘Activated Microbial Turf Management’, the latest innovation in biological turf care.

The partnership between the two companies was launched at Harrogate Week where The Great Turf Company’s Directors and Consultants were accompanied by Laverstoke Park’s Business Development Manager, Richard Page, and Senior Microbiology Soil Scientist, Dr. Gracie Barrett, to offer practical guidance for restoring and maintaining soil and turfgrass biology for great playing surfaces.

The Great Turf Company is now the exclusive supplier of Laverstoke Park’s compost tea products to the fine turf industry. The product range includes a state-of-the-art brewer, compost from Laverstoke Park’s fully licensed five-acre compost site and fungal activator to boost microbial populations in compost tea.

Furthermore, Laverstoke Park is now providing independent analysis and advice for soil fertility management to The Great Turf Company’s clients through their fully equipped chemistry and microbiology laboratories.

Combining the information from Laverstoke Park’s comprehensive chemistry analyses with their microbiology testing services, The Great Turf Company is able to provide turf managers with valuable information and insight into both the chemical and biological fertility of their soils, which is the foundation of sustainable turf management.

The Great Turf Company’s Managing Director, Ian Morrison, sees Harrogate Week as the perfect opportunity to launch the new products and laboratory services as part of its Activated Microbial Turf Management programme: “BTME is widely regarded as a leading showcase of the latest innovations in turf management. And with Activated Microbial Turf Management producing great results for premier golf courses and sports pitches across theUKandEurope, this is one innovation not to be missed.”
