Troon Host Annual Leadership Conference

Nearly 400 golf representatives from across the globe to attend; Golf Channel's Brandel Chamblee to deliver keynote presentation on the future of the game

Troon logo from websiteWhen Troon® held its first leadership conference over a decade ago, it hosted just 25 golf professionals from courses located in three different countries. Now, with more than 200 courses representing 27 countries in its current portfolio, the company will hold the 2014 Troon Leadership Conference with nearly 400 industry professionals in attendance.

Being held January 14-16, 2014 at Talking Stick Resort in Scottsdale, Ariz., the conference allows Troon’s facility leaders, managers, agronomists, corporate executives and associates from around the world to develop their professional skills and improve their results.

The overarching theme of this year’s conference is “Adapting Your Leadership Style to Grow Yourself, Your Team and Our Business,” with messages from industry leading experts in course management, agronomy, professional development and human resources. Those who attend will also receive the latest company knowledge and resources that ensure the exceptional customer experience found at Troon-managed facilities.

“In our industry today, it’s imperative that we invest in the leadership skills of our managers and associates,” said Dana Garmany, chairman & CEO, Troon. “This helps us improve our company and the services we offer by understanding how to maximize the many talents and strengths of our teams located across the globe.”

Keynote speakers include Brandel Chamblee of the Golf Channel, speaking on the future of the game of golf, Erin Passons from Passons Consulting, speaking on strengths-based leadership, along with motivational speaker Meagan Johnson.

Educational breakout sessions will be held to address important industry topics such as fitness & wellness, connecting with members, technology, and customer & association engagement among others. “Grow the Game” breakouts will focus on seven key Troon initiatives that address challenges in the game that include: time and pace of play, access, and junior participation to name a few. Awards will also be presented to recognize top-performing facilities, as well as individual associates who excelled in their field in 2013.
