A new state-of-the-art indoor golf academy featuring the UK’s first RoboGolfPro will open its doors to the public on July 9.

FairWeather Golf in Camberley, Surrey, is the most advanced new indoor golf academy in the UK and will be helping golfers develop their swings with robot-assisted efficiency.

Two RoboGolfPro robots have arrived from the United States and will be operated by leading American golf coach Nate Weidner, Director of Instruction at FairWeather Golf.

“RoboGolfPro is the only machine in existence that physically takes the club and corrects the golf swing specifically for the ability and physique of the student, developing muscle memory which enables them to replicate that swing when they’re out on the course,” explained Nate Weidner.

“Based on the information entered into the machine, the robot guides the golfers’ arms and body to formulate a golf swing and motion that is best fit for the individual. It’s your swing, but with robot-assisted efficiency.”

RoboGolfPro has attracted widespread attention in the United States and is being used by top tournament professionals. Vaughn Taylor, winner of the 2016 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, is a RoboGolfPro owner, crediting the machine as “an awesome training aid”. Tour professionals Mike Weir, David Toms and Bryson DeChambeau, who has a degree in physics, are also RoboGolfPro users.

A second mobile RoboGolfPro robot operated by FairWeather Golf will go on the road and be available for golf days and corporate events.

Richard Simpson, Managing Director of FairWeather Golf, said, “In addition to the robots, the academy has an array of game performance technology, including BodiTrak, K-Vest and Trackman, to analyse and enhance golfers’ performance.

“We will also be helping new golfers and juniors get into the game, and provide a relaxed, social experience for groups who want to come along and have some fun with friends. We have six golf simulators with a choice of 63 world-class golf courses to play and a bar and café in the FairWeather Players’ Lounge.”

The FairWeather Golf Academy will open with a VIP invitation-only launch event on Tuesday July 5.

The venue then opens to the public on Saturday July 9 when Nate and his professional coaching team will be on hand to offer taster sessions on the RoboGolfPro.
