Unique booking system is pure genius

12.05am 6th July 2006 - Corporate

Newly-launched TeeGenius lets golfers search tee-time availability for courses in their local area – with no charge for joining or booking.
The creators of the online service say TeeGenius is a complete one-stop shop which allows golfers to search where and when they want to play and find free tee-times at clubs that want visitors – likening the service to the comprehensive travel initiative Expedia.com.
But it’s not only golfers that benefit from the system – golf clubs also stand to make considerable gains.

The biggest benefit to clubs is that TeeGenius is looking to establish itself through an extensive marketing and advertising campaign in order to drive traffic to the website, which effectively translates into free marketing and advertising for all of the clubs using the service.
Jago Brown, managing director of TeeGenius, said, “What we’re offering to golfers is a unique service – it’s an Expedia for golf. We feel we’ve combined the best of what software companies and tee-time request services are offering and taken it further to offer a complete service.
“Both clubs and golfers can benefit from TeeGenius and it won’t cost them a penny – but it’s really the clubs that stand to gain the most. For no cost at all we’ll be advertising clubs to their local area taking away all of the work and risk for the clubs.”
TeeGenius is launching in the west country and south Wales, focusing on Bristol, Gloucester, Swindon, Newport and Cardiff.
Expansion of the scheme is already underway with launches in London and Birmingham soon to be announced and ongoing growth across the UK to follow.
