Under Armour is celebrating a meteoric rise that has seen it become the UK’s number one men’s winter apparel brand.*

The American company, which specialises in equipping professional athletes with hi-tech and innovative sportswear, launched its golf range in theUKin 2007.

Now, four years later, it has been named the top winter men’s apparel brand in the UK by Golf Datatech.

Golf Datatech’s retail sales reports relate to both value and units for the months of October, November and December last year. And their research reveals that Under Armour collectively sold more units and achieved the highest retail turnover figures across men’s winter apparel, sold by both on- and off-course retailers during the 2011 winter season.*

Commenting on the results, Richard Palmer-Jones, UK Master Agent for Under Armour, said: “To achieve number one apparel brand status within four years of our market entry is a very proud achievement.

“Our retail partners have helped drive our phenomenal growth and the consumer has clearly shown that in today’s difficult economic times – those who innovate, win.

“We look forward to seeing further positive results for 2012 – with our business forecast to grow in excess of 30 per cent as we continue to re-invent the golf apparel category in theUK.”

*Under Armour #1 in total men’s apparel categories (shirts, tops and bottoms) value and units for On and Off Course combined retail sales for months of Oct. Nov. and Dec. 2011 according to Golf Datatech retail sales reports.
