Swan Golf Designs is celebrating after the Karnataka Golf Association’s Championship course, which was extensively renovated by the SGD team, was awarded as the Best Course in India.
The Asian Golf Monthly accolade was presented to the Club at the recent Asia Pacific Golf Summit in Bangkok. The awards are the region’s golf industry “Oscars” and were voted for in all corners of the globe.
Swan Golf Designs’ renovation of the course at KGA in Bangalore, Southern India, was undertaken over two phases, each lasting six months, and involved not only the redesign and rebuilding of all tees, greens, bunkers and fairways, but also the update of the irrigation and drainage systems.
The latter was of particular success, allowing the course to remain open every day since the project was completed, in spite of the heaviest rainfalls over the summer monsoon seasons.
