Centurion Club, the exclusive private club in Hertfordshire, England, has been recognised by its management company, Troon Golf®, following yet another year of outstanding membership growth. Awarded at the annual Troon Leadership conference, hosted at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort & Spa in Chandler, Arizona, Centurion Club picked up the “International Membership Sales Rock Star Award” at the coveted closing ceremony for its impressive sales efforts throughout 2014.

Reflecting Troon’s status as the market-leader in its competitive set and in celebration of its 25-year anniversary, Troon delegates from around the world gathered for the three-day conference. The Centurion Club was crowned with the Rock Star award to acknowledge the exclusive venue’s standout achievement in delivering exceptional membership growth, the best across Troon’s flourishing International Division.

As one of the UK’s leading private clubs, Centurion Club, located near St Albans, has been steadfast in its development of a unique member experience. Thanks to its innovative package offering, the venue boasts an enviable membership collective who not only relish in the surroundings of an immaculate Par-72 golf course but enjoy a vibrant social environment befitting of the community, which has resulted in significant membership growth year-on-year.

Collecting the award on behalf of Centurion Club, Managing Director, Scott Evans commented, “Firstly I must congratulate the sales team for their sterling effort in the pre-opening period, and now, as we welcome new guests; their outstanding commitment have shaped where we stand today as a golf facility and the experience in place for our members.

“We aim high, with our in tournament-ready condition golf course in keeping with Troon’s standing as the leader in pristine golf course conditioning, complemented by our new clubhouse development which will undoubtedly provide the ideal stage for bespoke member events to enjoy with friends.”

Providing even more benefit to its members, Centurion Club also is the only club in the UK to be selected for Troon Privé, Troon’s premier reciprocal program for private golf members. With the privilege to play at other private clubs for the host clubs cart fee rate, as well as the ability to sign in up to three guests at host clubs accompanied rates, Centurion Club’s membership enjoy access to Private Clubs around the world, adding significant benefit to an already attractive membership.

Bruce Glasco, Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director, Troon International Division, joined in his praise of the Centurion Club team: “This award is richly deserved by Scott and his team, they consistently create new ways to invite golfers to join their stunning facility – whether individual, corporate, business, or overseas memberships. All can relax in the splendour of the facility, safe in the knowledge the expert staff are on-hand to assist at each calling.”

Since opening in 2013, the Simon Gidman-designed course has been steadfast in its approach to offer its members the very best, with its superb 7,200 yard championship layout regularly featuring in Top 100 rankings by national and international publications. The Rock Star award completes a stunning first-year for the facility and underlines Troon’s commitment to exceptional experiences by delivering for members world-wide.
