Geoff Lang, Chief Executive of St Andrews International Limited explained: “St Andrews already attracts over one million visitors annually and over two thirds of them come to play golf. All serious golfers long to play on the Old Course and by creating our new Limited Luxury Membership package, golfers throughout the world can fulfil their dream with an entirely five star golfing experience.

“By creating a business and conference centre within a complex which has five star leisure facilities and access to the world famous courses in Scotland, members will be able to combine business and pleasure in the same visit providing the sense of belonging which they have previously been unable to experience.”

Even the basic Individual and Corporate memberships of the Society will provide access to tee-off reservation times on some of the finest courses in Scotland, including Kingsbarns which, opening in July 2000, is already recognised as one of the greatest links courses to be created this century. Also included in the Society’s membership will be both Individual and Corporate hospitality at this years Millennium Open within the development.

The University of St Andrews Museum will chart the progress of the University through the centuries and will feature priceless artefacts, including the University’s original maces dating back to the 15th century. This aspect of the development will be open to the visiting public in July 2000.

The University of St Andrews Information Centre will provide up-to-date details on current leading edge research and activities, and will offer a welcome to visitors, alumni and new students.

The Gateway Conference Venue and business centre will cater for the increase in international business visitors and will provide facilities for up to 300 delegates, or host exclusive private functions.
