Montgomerie has designs in Denmark

9.20am 3rd August 2007 - Course Development

Colin Montgomerie has been signed up to design an 18 hole golf course in Denmark for Palm City Holdings. The Montgomerie at Palm City Family & Golf Resort is located in the north west of Denmark, in the town of Frederikshavn.

Monty will work with European Golf Design, the joint venture design company of the European Tour and IMG, with whom he worked most recently at Carton House, Ireland and Celtic Manor Resort, Wales.

Montgomerie and developer Siggi Strandeng attended a ceremony at Loch Lomond where the design agreement was signed. “I am delighted that Palm City have asked me, with the team at European Golf Design, to work on their course. I am really enjoying my design business and to have the opportunity to work on this very special piece of land is a terrific honour,” said Colin.

Siggi Strandeng said, “We are delighted that Colin has agreed to work with us on our project in Frederikshavn. Our aim is to create the finest integrated resort in Scandinavia. Colin and European Golf Design are a key part of the project team and I, along with my partners, look forward to a very successful working relationship”.
