Greg Norman’s design incorporates natural and created sand dunes to produce a challenging championship links style golf course where every hole enjoys ocean views.

The Almouj Golf Club at The Wave, Muscat in Oman recently opened nine holes and the practice range while the second nine holes are currently under construction.  Once completed, this world class links style golf course designed by Greg Norman will measure approximately 7,432 yards and play to a par of 72.

Norman was selected as the architect for his reputation as a designer of premier courses throughout the world and for his dedication and passion for creating environmentally sensitive golf courses.  This seaside course sits on theGulfofOmanoffering dramatic views that overlook the ocean, sand dunes and the Al Hajar Mountains in the background. Norman’s design incorporates natural and created sand dunes to produce a challenging championship links style golf course where every hole enjoys ocean views and several holes lye directly adjacent to the sea.

The second nine holes are scheduled to open in the second half of 2012 and Norman offered his views on the course at a recent press conference: “We were very privileged to work on such a great parcel of land and I am confident that once completed, this course will be one of the finer golf courses I have been involved with anywhere in the world.  I am looking forward to the grand opening later this year and I’d really like to see this course host a prestigious world-class tournament in the near future.”
