Unique facility at 3 Hammers

9.39am 31st July 2008 - Course Development

As part of a £1million investment the 3 Hammers Golf Complex nestled on the border between Staffordshire and the West Midlands has built a state-of-the-art outdoor golf facility to meet the increasing demands of Midlands golfers.

The first of its kind in the country, the new 10,000 sq. ft. outdoor Learn 2 Play Golf Zone is a unique facility focusing on teaching beginners the fundamentals of golf.

A vast array of teaching aids are available and the lessons use a wide variety of teaching techniques that are specifically designed for beginners. The state-of-the-art area is fully netted and astro-turfed with a synthetic putting green, the area also includes an octagonal pavilion for parents and spouses to watch in comfort.

3 Hammers Golf Pro Piers Ward explained, “Having watched many children develop through junior golf, I realise the tremendous value of good fundamental golf teaching and wanted to ensure that this facility was able to match those needs.”

He added, “It has been a dream of mine to develop a facility that can cater to the needs of every golfer, irrespective of their skill level or individual needs. The 3 Hammers meets that dream.”

As part of the £1million investment the complex will also soon offer an elite golf performance studio – a bespoke indoor teaching area catering for the more experienced player looking to improve their game. The air conditioned Studio will house a state of the art 3D motion analysis system, force plates for measuring golf swing dynamics, indoor putting green with laser analysis and a ‘fit for golf’ exercise system.

Less than a ten minute drive away from the 3 Hammers Golf Complex is the Roman Way Hotel, an ideal place to relax and unwind in after a thrilling day out on the 18 hole course or 23 bay driving range.
