A full complement of 200 visitors from 120 clubs from across the UK were at The Mere Resort late last month for the annual Golf Management Group Expo. The event featured 35 exhibitors from refuse collection to beer and wine sellers.  It also provided the ideal opportunity for Cheadle Hulme based GMG to launch their new software programme Contracts Manager.

“The event was another huge success fully subscribed for the first which was a real fillip. It provided an opportunity for our members to meet face to face with our approved suppliers, take in some educational seminars from the likes of Jim Croxton CEO BIGGA, John Bushell MD Sports Marketing Surveys, Matt Roberts Director 59club and David Joy CX England Golf and also network with their peers.” stated Scott Partington, one of the Directors at GMG.

“We are excited about the launch of Contracts Manager as we want to add more than just procurement solutions to our service. The software has been 12 months in development, driven by necessity from our 450 member clubs who have also contributed to the process, it will prevent clubs automatically rolling into new service contracts on everything from refuse collection to gas and electric. The software is free to members and we invite non-members to trial this free of charge for 90 days. Just contact us and we can arrange a remote demonstration over the telephone.” added Scott

Trevor Glover, Secretary/Manager at Chesterfield Golf Club said: “I attended the Golf Management Group Expo yesterday at Mere together with my Chairman, House Chairman and Course Manager. Two great presentations in the morning, very informative, and lots of information on everything I can eat, drink or grow and cut grass with. Free software to manage every contract at the Golf Club and a golf competition to top it all.  Shame about my golf!

“Thanks to Scott and David and all their team, also to the presenters and the exhibitionists.  Great organisation by a great organisation.  Keep up the good work.”

The winners of the golf event were Colin Burgess and Stephanie Drinkall from Leyland GC and the winner of the golf holiday was Trevor Gardner from Ashton –Under-Lyne GC.

Fellow GMG Director, David Valentine says: “We have received some very positive feedback already from both the delegates and exhibitors. We will look to return to Mere in 2016 as it’s a fantastic venue, great golf course and facilities are second to none so we will be back after alternating with the South Expo in 2015”
