8.15am 11th December 2006 - Exhibitions & Conferences

Andrew McDonald, chief executive of Europe’s largest specialist golf retailer, has confirmed agreement has been reached with the Golf Show Co Ltd, owner of the London Golf Show, that american golf will be the exclusive retail partner for the 2007 event which runs from 26-29 April. The London Golf Show is held each year at ExCeL London and attracted more than 30,000 visitors and 320 exhibitors in 2006.

McDonald said, “american golf is proud to be exclusive retailer at the London Golf Show, which is now firmly established as the major consumer golf show in the UK.

“It is our aim to give the visitors to the show the best choice of brands available in the industry today with an unrivalled selection of clothing, accessories and clubs. As the biggest customer to most of the major brands we will be working with them to give the consumer a day to remember.”

american golf is the largest specialist golf retailer in the country with 71 stores across UK and Ireland. It was also recently voted golf retailer of the year by readers of Golf Punk magazine for the second successive year – and for seven years running is the number one retailer with readers of Today’s Golfer.

Colin Brunton, chairman of the Golf Show Co Ltd, added, “I am delighted we have secured a deal with american golf. It is the largest supplier of golf products in the UK with major retail operations throughout the country. And its recent award-winning success shows how highly it is regarded by consumers. We have discussed many initiatives for the London Golf Show and are planning some fantastic promotions for all ages.”

This year there will also be a golf industry conference at ExCeL running simultaneously with the first two days of the London Golf Show. It will focus on the business of golf, and resort and golf course marketing.
