Presented by the UK Golf Course Owners Association (UKGCOA) and the Organisation of Golf and Range Operators (OGRO), GolfBIC features industry leaders debating key issues, is a fantastic networking opportunity and also boasts one of the highlights of BTME’s social calendar in a charity drinks reception and dinner.
The latest prominent figure to sign up is keynote speaker Hamish Taylor. Hamish is a former award-winning CEO turned inspirational speaker and broadcaster. A very keen golfer, he was Head of Brands at British Airways, CEO of Eurostar and CEO of Sainsburys Bank all before the age of 40. He has a hugely successful knack of transferring ideas between sectors, and is a dynamic and energetic speaker who is sure to present delegates with all manner of exciting ideas and challenges.
GolfBIC kicks off at 9.30am on Wednesday 20 January in Hall Q of the Harrogate International Centre (HIC), home of BTME 2016, and will be hosted by popular presenter Naga, who is a familiar face to millions from her broadcast work. She will introduce thought-provoking presentations from Jay Karen, Chief Executive of the National Golf Course Owners Association in the USA, Lodewijk Klootwijk, Chief Executive of the European Golf Course Owners Association, and Andy Lloyd-Skinner, Chief Executive of the UKGCOA.
Other fascinating discussions will be led by Mike O’Connor, Managing Director of the UK FootGolf Association, Johnathan Callister, Chief Executive of Pentland Golf and Jerry Kilby, CEO of British Putting.
As well as the two-day conference, which concludes at 1pm on Thursday 21 January, Wednesday evening sees GolfBIC head to the HIC’s Royal Hall for the drinks reception and charity dinner on behalf of the Golf Foundation.
Drinks will be served at 6.30pm, with the three-course meal beginning at 7.30pm with fabulous musical accompaniment. Brendon Pyle, CEO of the Golf Foundation, will then provide details of the organisation’s success stories with children and golf before the charity auction is held. A memorable evening will be topped off by further musical entertainment.
