The organisers intend that the PGA Show Asia 2003 will not only be bigger than last year’s event but also better. The PGA Show Asia – Trade & Industrial is a collaboration with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) – Beijing Sub-Council. This show aims to promote the development of China’s emerging golf industry by first focusing purely on its trade and industrial aspects pertaining to the development of the golfing infrastructure.
As reported elsewhere, golf has been approved in the first stage of consideration as a competitive sport in the Games of the 29th Olympiad in 2008, to be held in Beijing. China, with a population of about 1.3 billion people, has already over 400,000 memberships distributed among her 195 golf courses. With a projected 500 to 1000 golf courses being built in the near future, China certainly has immense market potential for golf related investments.
