The 2006 PGA Merchandise Show & Convention education conference will grow to more than 100 seminars, January 26-28, in the Orange County Convention Center and is being organized by a collaborative effort of PGA Golf Exhibitions, The PGA of America, the Association of Golf Merchandisers, leading golf organizations and renowned experts for the benefit of some 45,000 attending industry professionals at golf’s annual global business gathering.
To improve the exchange of successful approaches among PGA professionals and industry experts, the 2006 education conference programme adds new round tables and best practices sessions to an already full calendar of seminars and PGA member programmes. There will be some fifty instructors teaching within six professional development tracks including: general management, marketing & promotions, retail merchandising, golf operations, instruction & teaching and core competencies.
“We have been able to tap into the industry’s top organizations, most respected teachers and leading business experts to assemble an unprecedented calendar of educational programs that are designed solely to help PGA professionals, retailers and golf industry professionals grow their businesses, advance their careers and drive participation in the game,” said PGA Golf Exhibitions vice president and show manager Ed Several.
“Every aspect of their wide-ranging responsibilities is addressed within the conference and now the conference is fostering an even better exchange of ideas through the new roundtable and best practice sessions.”
New 30-minute round table sessions will be led by an industry expert and including a panel of industry peers discussing topics such as: branding, email marketing, tournament sales, what women golfers really want, top 50 instructors, attracting multi-cultural golfers to your facility, club making and power promoting ideas. The 45-minute best practices sessions will cover topics such as: open to buy planning, women’s golf, junior golf, attracting multi-cultural golfers to your facility, merchandising and websites.

The PGA Merchandise Show & Convention, January 26-29 in Orlando, is the world’s most influential gathering of PGA professionals, retailers, golf manufacturers and industry leaders.
