Fashion in the spotlight at Orlando

12.05am 18th December 2006 - Exhibitions & Conferences

With more than 200 top names in golf apparel and sportswear, daily fashion shows, the new Fashion Collection Review, plus apparel and retailing workshops, there is a heavy fashion influence at the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show, 25-27 January.

Ashworth and Callaway Golf Apparel, Gear For Sports and Tehama/Izod G — all having signed multi-year show exhibition agreements — are among a stellar list of apparel companies that also includes Page & Tuttle, Cutter & Buck, Nike Golf, adidas Golf, Puma, Fairway & Greene, Como Sport, Lija and Burberry in the bustling apparel category of the 2007 PGA Merchandise Show.

The popular Fashion Fairway daily fashion shows return in 2007 to reveal the latest fashion trends of more than two-dozen top apparel companies with four daily runway shows on Thursday and Friday (10:30 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.) and two shows on Saturday (10:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.).

Additionally, a new Fashion Collection Review will complement the trend-setting presentations with Fashion Fairway ensemble displays adjacent to the runway for closer review and discussion with designers following each fashion show.

Fashion also takes the focus in a new Retail Apparel Roundtable, by The Apparel Wire, on Friday, 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Fashion Fairway stage. Category experts will lead a panel discussion on apparel as a primary growth segment of golf retail.

The panel presentation will be followed by the choice of four breakout roundtables: 1.) apparel marketing from a customer viewpoint; 2.) technology and apparel in the 21st Century; 3.) maximizing media coverage of apparel; and 4.) merchandising apparel to build revenue.

The fashion focus doesn‘t end there as fashion merchandising is also featured within the new “By the Professionals for the Professionals” education conference, the Saturday feature presentation “PGA Merchandisers of the Year Roundtable,” and the new PGA Golf Shop: Merchandising & Design Center presented by Bauer International.

The 2007 PGA Merchandise Show will host more than 43,000 international golf industry professionals, who will preview and test merchandise from more than 1,250 golf manufacturers, learn valuable retailing methods and share successful player development programs to foster the continued growth of the game.

PGA professionals, media and invited buyers will kickoff the annual gathering with a Demo Day at Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge on 24th January from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. EST. Exhibition, education and player development programs at the 54th PGA Merchandise Show will take place 25-27th January from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. EST, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
