Carin Koch, the 2015 European Solheim Cup Captain, will join leaders at the Golf Business & Industry Convention (GolfBIC) on March 16 for a special seminar on how to attract more women into golf.

The Ladies European Tour star will join a question and answer session led by Syngenta which will include a presentation of the company’s recently published golf market research report, ‘The Opportunity to Grow Golf: Female Participation.’

The multiple LET and LPGA winner, who recently became Syngenta’s first golf ambassador, will be joined by award-winning PGA Professional Alastair Spink, founder of the successful ‘Here Come the Girls’ coaching initiative, and Emma Clifford, Secretary-Manager of West Essex Golf Club and the GCMA Club Manager of the Year 2014 thanks to her work recruiting 115 new members in one year.

Simon Elsworth, Syngenta Head of Turf & Landscape EAME, who will present the market research findings, said, “Increased female participation is the single most significant opportunity for the golf industry to grow in the UK and other mature golf markets, which is why this is such an important subject.

“Carin has been a great supporter of the research we have been doing, showing clubs how to retain and recruit women in golf, and we are delighted she will be joining Alastair and Emma, who both have successful, hands-on experience of bringing new female players and customers into the game.”

GolfBIC is presented by the UK Golf Course Owners Association (UKGCOA) and the Organisation of Golf & Range Operators (OGRO) and takes place at the Marriott of Arden, Warwickshire, March 16-17, 2015.

Colin Jenkins, GolfBIC co-founder and OGRO Chairman, said: “Carin is an outstanding professional golfer and ambassador for the women’s game and we are delighted she will be joining us on March 16 as part of Syngenta’s presentation and expert question-and-answer session.

“The theme to this year’s GolfBIC is ‘Golf’s Future – Inclusive and Accessible’ and the opportunity presented by female participation, underlined by Syngenta’s insightful and practical market research, is central to this year’s agenda.”
