Fairway 2006 will take place on the grounds of the New Munich Trade Fair Centre together with Golf Europe for this first time from 29 September until 1 October 2006. The three day Fairway Congress will have an international line-up of some of the finest and most distinguished speakers in the golf business and will take place in Hall C3. All presentations will have simultaneous interpretation into German or English.
The Federation of European Golf Greenkeepers Association (FEGGA) is offering a two-part “Machinery Workshop” in collaboration with the Toro Company. In addition to financial aspects such as budgeting, purchasing and optimization of labour costs, this workshop will also address social skills and technical expertise of greenkeepers. Among others, the speakers include Dean Cleaver, FEGGA, Bob Buckingham, The Toro Company, and Kenny Mackay, director of golf courses & grounds at the De Vere Belfry.
Another highlight of the congress program of Fairway 2006 is the symposium “Marketing and Sales for Golf Courses”, which Messe Mà¼nchen GmbH is holding together with DGV, GMVD, PGA of Germany and BVGA. The main topics are new acquisition strategies for clubs; golf tourism; professional establishment of customer loyalty in golf clubs and PGA pros as pivotal persons in membership marketing. In addition, Claus Ammer, managing director Hohenpà¤hl Golf Club, will give “50 Marketing & Sales Tip for Golf Course Daily Routines”.
The workshop of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects will be chaired by Götz Mecklenburg, managing director of Haradine Golf GmbH. In addition to planning and construction of golf courses in Eastern Europe, discussion about the training of golf architects will feature strongly.
Other speakers include Dennis McKernan, Irrigation Association of America, Jonathan Smith, Golf Environment Europe, Christopher Stà¤dler, Golf Course Architect, Rainer Preissmann, Golf Course Architect and Libor Jirasek, Landscape Architect from the Czech Republic.
