Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie stars at 'GolfLive' next May

The 2010 Ryder Cup Captain Colin Montgomerie and Paul Casey are set to top the bill at a three day spectacular new interactive golf event to be staged at Stoke Park in Buckinghamshire from 14 to 16 May 2010, the week before the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, where Paul Casey will be defending champion.

An invited audience of sponsors, partners, potential exhibitors and media attended the Golf Live launch at Stoke Park on 16th September where Colin Montgomery and Sky Sports Presenter Di Stewart gave an effective demonstration of just how entertaining and instructive the interactive concept can be.

Golf Live, presented in association with The Daily Telegraph, is the brainchild of Brand Events, the company that successfully launched Top Gear Live, The Taste Festivals and a series of other outstanding and popular events in major cities around the world. Brand Events is working in conjunction with IMG, the leading sports marketing group.

Leading professionals and coaches will host instructional theatres based around specific golfing skill sets such as long-game, short-game, bunker-play, chipping and putting. Each theatre session will be 20 minutes in length and offer unprecedented up close and personal experiences.

Strict limit on attendance

Golf Live is a unique and truly engaging event designed to give amateur golfers of all ages and abilities the chance to indulge in their passion by watching and learning from the best in the game. To make the event a more intimate experience there will be a strict limit upon the number of people who will be able to attend each day.

The ticket structure and pricing is being finalised at the moment and will be announced soon along with details of travel, parking and so on. It is already known that there will opportunities for corporate entertainment in the luxurious Stoke Park club house and that Taylor Made and Yonex are among the major brands that will be taking part.

Commenting on the launch, Event Ambassador Colin Montgomerie said: “Golf Live is a unique and exciting concept. Not only will it provide amateur golfers with an action packed golfing day out, it will also allow them to get closer than ever before to tournament professionals and learn about how we play the game. I don’t know of any other golf event that will provide such spectacular entertainment and instruction.”

Golf Live visitors will be able to plan their day around two pre-allocated sessions, an interview and lesson with Colin Montgomerie and a celebrity vs. professional 3-hole challenge.

A memorable climax via a daily Grand Finalé

At the end of each of the event’s three days, there will be a Grand Finalé, fronted by Montgomerie, Casey and other leading players and celebrities, which will guarantee a memorable climax.

“Golf Live is a totally new concept”, commented Event Director, James Goode, “It will present the opportunity for passionate golf enthusiasts to enjoy an interactive learning experience from some of the world’s top golfers in specially created arenas. This event will break the mould and take the golfing world by storm.”

Golf Live will also present a 360 degree view of the golfing world, from the latest products of the leading manufacturers to insightful hints and tips from golf’s best players, coaches and sport psychologists.

At the centre of the tented exhibition area will be the Stoke Park Shop but booths from 4 m² upwards are available from companies who wish to run their own stands. Exhibition space at £295 per m² is available at a discount if booked well in advance. There are bespoke sponsorship packages with prices starting at £20,000.

Tickets for Golf Live will be on sale from 1 February 2010 at www.golfliveevent.com
