The Faldo Series will get its UK season underway next week when it returns to Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club on 30 March – 1 April. A field of 73 boys and 12 girls will line up in Bridgend for the 54-hole Wales Championship.

“We’re excited to start the new UK season at Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club, a valued host of the Series for the past five years.” said Sir Nick Faldo. “The course is always guaranteed to deliver a demanding test for the players and with World Amateur Golf Ranking points on offer as well as five spots in the Grand Final; we are really looking forward to our return.”

“We are delighted to welcome the Faldo Series back to Pyle & Kenfig once again and we hope that the players will enjoy our challenging course,” said Simon Hopkin, Secretary/Manager of Pyle & Kenfig Golf Club. “It is an honour to be the Faldo Series Wales venue and it is very pleasing to welcome some of Europe’s best young golfers to the club.”

The players at the Wales Championship will have taken note of the tremendous success of the recently concluded Faldo Series Asia Grand Final at Mission Hills.  The age category winners in Wales will be aiming to join Asia Champion 21-year-old Yuki Kamasu of Japan at the Faldo Series Europe Grand Final later this year.

Recognised as the only global amateur series for boys and girls, the Faldo Series was established in 1996, expanding to Asia in 2006.

Today, 40 Faldo Series tournaments take place in 30-plus countries worldwide, touching thousands of golfers each year. Past winners include Major Champions Tseng Ya-ni and Rory McIlroy, who took his tally of professional Major titles to four with his wins at the 2014 Open Championship and US PGA Championship.
