The R&A, through its “Working for Golf” Programme, has thrown its support behind the Pravets Golf Club Junior Programme in 2016 with a grant award.

Each year Pravets Golf Club strives to develop young golfers in Bulgaria through its complimentary junior programme. Spearheaded by PGA Professional William Dow and Bulgarian Assistant PGA Professional Krasi Panayotov, the programme focuses on developing the skills of juniors of all ages and introducing kids to golf.

Alan Rogut, Director of Golf at Pravets Golf Club, stated, “The generous financial support from The R&A will allow the Club to offer even more coaching hours and competitions for the young Bulgarian golfers to participate in. Pravets Golf Club has superb facilities and professional instructors and we are committed to taking the game forward in Bulgaria at grass roots level. I would like to thank The R&A for their confidence in us and for their support.”

The Junior Programme has been running now for 6 years and growing steadily. It is supported by the owners of Pravets Golf & Spa and also from such generous grants from The R&A.

Pravets Golf & Spa, with long-term support from Braemar Golf of St Andrews, has fast gained a reputation within the Bulgarian golfing fraternity for the quality and condition of the golf course. The club is the centre-piece of an excellent 4-star resort that offers a 240-key hotel, spa, conference, leisure and a host of other activities. Situated only 40 minutes from the Capital City Sofia, the resort is a popular weekend retreat and it is now gaining attention from international visitors.
