2.20pm 19th August 2016 - Growing the Game

Rio Interactive Zone IMG_1655Rio Interactive Zone IMG_1672Golf is proving a big hit with Olympic spectators in Rio with upwards of a thousand a day trying out the sport in the tented village during both the men’s and women’s events.

A number of activities have been installed by Provision Events to help generate interest in the sport among Brazilians.

Fans attending the golf as well as cheering on stars of the game have been using two golf simulators, testing out a six hole putting course, a long putt hole plus getting some coaching with PGA qualified pros in the specially designed nets.

Nick Clemens, founding partner of Provision Events, commented: “The interactive zone has been a massive hit at the golf. We have had over a 1000 people of all ages per day having a go at the various activities and for the most this was their first go at golf.

“The atmosphere has been brilliant and working alongside the Brazilian Golf Confederation, this has been a great team effort and a good partnership.”
