Universal education for all in the golf industry has finally arrived through the launch of CMAA e-University, an on-line education portal aimed at bringing universal access to education to all those employed in the golf club industry in Asia.

Announcing this milestone achievement, Mike Sebastian, president of the Club Managers Association of Asia Pacific Pte Ltd said, “We have worked long and hard in actualizing this mission and it is finally a done deal and all that is left for me to say is that everyone in the club industry will now have an equal opportunity in education and this is what counts!”

CMAA e-University is a collaboration with e-University Pte Ltd, a cutting edge specialist in the field of e-learning platforms and through this joint-venture, an exclusive platform custom-designed for the club industry is now ready to help deliver training and education to the club industry throughout the Asia Pacific region.

“This is really something that is rocket science at work – everyone employed in the club industry throughout the region can now have easy access to quality education in a number of key disciplines and what is most important is that all programmes are fully certificated upon successful completion,” Sebastian said.

Commenting on the launch of CMAA e-University, Sandip Labh, chief executive officer of e-University said, “We are excited with the collaboration with CMAA because we believe that this special arrangement will deliver customized and high quality training programmes to the club industry in the region and currently the portal provides a lot of content and we hope to work with CMAA to load up more as we go forward so as the ensure that the education provided always stays current and relevant.”

Adding to this, Sebastian said, “The CMAA e-university learning platform will help upgrade the quality of human capital engaged in the club industry and we believe that the e-learning platform will help us finally realise our mission to help put in place a high quality and sustainable learning landscape that will help train, accredit and certify hundreds if not thousands of people engaged in the club profession.”

The CMAA e-University offers one of the world’s largest catalogues of multimedia eLearning courses that cover most of the common training needs of organisations. “We are working on a few levels of Learning Management Systems that will be specially designed to validate and accredit various levels of employees in the club industry and at the same time, we will be working towards the creation of a much needed certification programme for practicing club general managers,” Sebastian said.

“We have already started working with e-University to develop a Learning Management System that will lead to the Asian Certified Club Managers (ACCM) certification,” explained Lawrence Young, CMAA’s director of education.

This is only the beginning and in time, CMAA and e-University hope to provide e-learning based training and education programmes that will lead to certification in the field of agronomy which is urgently needed in the golf club industry in the region. “e-University goes way beyond a typical Learning Management System – it is a system, that has been designed to provide complete end-to-end learning processes, content and services that is both powerful and feature rich, yet intuitively easy to use, manage and address all aspects of an organisation’s e-Learning,” Sebastian explained.

The CMAA e-University platform is absolutely user-friendly and according to CMAA’s technical director, Saiful Sufian, “We have designed the portal to be an extremely user-friendly facility where students can study anytime, anywhere and on whatever device they choose to do so – it can be their lap-top, tablet or mobile device and this is what makes CMAA e-University both a fun service and a very valuable education vehicle.”
