Guildford College – Merrist Wood Becomes GTC Quality Assured Centre

GTC and Merrist Wood logoThe Greenkeepers Training Committee is pleased to welcome Guildford – Merrist Wood College, Surrey on to its Quality Assured Scheme.

David Golding, GTC’s Education Director, in announcing Merrist Wood College as a GTC Quality Assured Centre says, “Merrist Wood College before and since the merger with Guildford College has a long tradition in delivering quality greenkeeper education and training programmes through its dedicated turf team.”

David added, “Golf clubs in Surrey and beyond have benefited from the support of the Merrist Wood College turf staff and we see an even stronger partnership between the golf clubs and college staff through the GTC Quality Assurance accreditation.”

Andy McEvoy, Programme Manager and Lecturer for the Sports Turf Department is delighted that the college has gained GTC Quality Assurance accreditation and is looking forward to working with the GTC.

“These are exciting times for the Sports Turf Industry and Merrist Wood is at the forefront in delivering quality training at all levels to the industry,” he said.
