Myagi connects retailers with brands to provide the first industry-wide platform delivering on-demand, retail sales training; helping front-line teams improve product knowledge, maximise sales and deliver excellent customer service.
As with a social media site, sales associates have their own dashboard where they can access content and monitor their progress. Team managers can also monitor activity and reward success. The training is typically delivered through short videos with quizzes to help measure achievement.
Yorkshire-based Direct Golf selected Myagi to help achieve its aim of being the ‘employer of choice’ and an innovation leader within the golf industry, and to drive more sales across its 21 stores.
Myagi’s platform is already in use with leading golf retailers in Australia and the addition of Direct Golf as a flagship UK customer, signals its growing global leadership in golf retail sales training.
Direct Golf’s managing director, Neil Bell, stated: “Direct Golf has always been committed to ensuring its staff have the most up-to-date product knowledge to ensure customers get the right advice about the right product at the right time.
“The Myagi platform will help us deliver effective training to our sales team, drive more sales in our stores, and connect with our brands and suppliers in a new and innovative way. They can share product information seamlessly and communicate with us quickly and effectively, enabling our stores and staff to act as their ambassadors in a consistent way.
“Being able to use Myagi for both supplier training and our own internal training made adopting the system a simple choice. It’s further evidence of our desire to invest in our staff and continue to lead innovation within the industry.”
Myagi’s business development manager, Richard Smith, added: “We’re excited about working with the team at Direct Golf, expanding our platform in retail golf in the UK and globally. Direct Golf’s progressive and customer-focused culture fits perfectly with ours. Both companies believe that effective retail sales training elevates the entire in-store customer experience and will lead to greater sales and loyalty.
“We will be working with Direct Golf’s suppliers over the coming weeks, because Myagi is a tool for the whole industry. We invite retailers and suppliers, large and small, to contact us to find out more about Myagi and how they can get involved.”
Based in San Francisco, and backed by Silicon Valley venture capital firms, Myagi also has offices in Melbourne, Australia, and Manchester.
Direct Golf UK has enjoyed massive growth in 24 successful years of trading. Starting with one small shop in Huddersfield, it now has 21 retail outlets nationwide and a significant portion of the web and mail order golf market.
