National Club Golfer has maintained its status as the highest-circulating golf title in the UK.

The release of the latest set of ABC (Audit Bureau of Circulation) figures showed that 59,000 copies of the magazine were distributed to almost 2,500 golf clubs across the UK every month.

None of the other audited golf titles entered into the six-month audit cycle, choosing to declare numbers only in the 12-month figures which were released in February.

“We are delighted to maintain our ABC result which continues to position us as officially the UK’s number 1 circulating golf title,” said Tom Irwin, the publisher at Sports Publications, whose portfolio includes National Club Golfer, Lady Golfer, Golf International, Pro Trade+, Winter Escapes, Go Golfing, and www.nationalclubgolfer.com

Lady Golfer has once again produced a monthly audited figure of 15,000 copies and remains the only monthly audited ladies’ golf title.

This has been a year of significant progress for Sports Publications. The acquisition of Golf International magazine in July saw the business enter the world of newsstand for the first time and they have delivered a compelling campaign, alongside England Golf, to help raise the profile of women and girls’ golf with the launch of the #ThisGirlGolfs brand.

In the digital field they have grown their online audience to close to 200,000 users across their platforms and increased their size database to 180,000 registered newsletter subscribers.

Irwin said: ‘The landscape in media is changing all the time, it seems that almost everyone is now producing content in some form, be it via a magazine, a YouTube channel, social media or a website.

“The next few months and indeed years will see us invest more in the quality of our print distribution channels as we seek to raise the visibility of our titles in golf clubs, and crucially a significant investment in a three-year digital strategy is now underway.

“Across our core business our content remains free at point of access and we cannot move forward without the continued support of our advertisers, it is their support that means we can continue to increase our audience and, in turn, return on advertiser investment.”

Sports Publications are proud to be the media partner of England Golf the governing body of amateur golf in England.
