Online golf network launched

An online club has been launched enabling travelling business golfers to visit tournaments, network with each other and play together while away from home.

The organisers of www.biztravelclub.com claim already to have 3,000 members – businessmen and women from Europe, Asia and Australia.

Up to 10,000 visitors who register with the site will gain free membership for two years and after this number is reached the cost of joining is £50 annually.

When travelling, members can’post’ their itinerary and will automatically gain access to the contact details of others’in town’ at the time.

One recent convert is Hugh Roberts, commercial director of the Ladies’ European Tour, who said: “The club enables us to contact a large audience of potential pro-am contestants.”

As a result of this association with the LET, club members will be entitled to special benefits if they visit the Solheim Cup match at Loch Lomond from October 6-8.
