Website for Birmingham golf

9.00am 6th August 2002 - Media

Birmingham City Council has launched a dedicated website for its seven golf courses branded under the banner of Birmingham’s Golf Link Circuit.

Peter Howard, Birmingham’s golf manager comments “with 30% of all UK households now using the internet, www.golfbirmingham.co.uk aims to make it more convenient for people to access Birmingham’s public golf service. Comprehensive information can be found on the seven courses and links can be found to many of our partners. The next stage is to provide a service where golfers can let us know what they thought of their visit and later in the year on-line tee-time reservations will be established”

This will enable golfers to book a game even when the courses are closed and give golf professionals more time to help customers in the golf shop. The traditional way of booking a tee time by phone will remain, however, so there will be no disadvantage to those who do not have access to the web.
