Abacus Sportswear, pioneers of high-performance stretch waterproof fabrics and Official Apparel Supplier to The 2015 European Solheim Cup team, has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2016 collection, featuring Extreme the company’s most advanced, high performance range to date.

The collection incorporates state-of-the-art, technical materials such as Drycool Zero™, Thermocool and StretchLite60K™, all of which create the most lightweight, breathable and stretchable garments the company has ever produced.

The technical fabrics have been developed by abacus® and thoroughly tested by former European Number One and abacus® brand ambassador Robert Karlsson, to provide golfers of all levels with enhanced ability to perform at their highest level when on the course.

“The Spring/Summer 2016 collection is all about pushing the boundaries of technical performance,” said Chris Mattsson, Head Designer at Abacus Sportswear.

“We have dressed the previous four European Solheim Cup teams and some of the leading professionals within the game. We have drawn on this experience to create our most technically advanced collection, designed for golfers of all abilities, helping them to play their best while on the course.”

New products within the collection include Abacus Sportswear’s new Pitch Extreme StretchLite™ jacket, which has a 20,000 WP (Water Pillar) and 60,000 MVP (Moisture Vapour Pillar) rating, making it the lightest, most breathable waterproof the company has produced.

The garment is making its debut appearance at The 2015 Solheim Cup as part of the European Team’s outfits and features a membrane technology enabling it to be worn close to the skin without a separate lining. This ensures it is extra light, thin and easy to wear, while its capacity to stretch to almost twice its original size allows for complete freedom of movement on the course.

In addition, the Albatross Polo is another new garment within the Spring/Summer 2016 collection and incorporates Abacus Sportswear’s Drycool Zero™ technical material. Designed to react with sweat to lower the temperature of the material, the long-lasting cooling technology accelerates the wicking process with advanced evaporation, keeping the wearer cool and dry.

For the first time, Abacus Sportswear’s Spring/Summer 2016 garments are divided into focussed sub-collections – ExtremeActiveCasual and Classics – which are designed to accurately address a range of golf playing styles, while ensuring freedom of movement when on the course.

“We have concentrated on all of the details so weather conditions become insignificant for the golfer. The state-of-the-art technical fabrics within the collection are all designed to move in sync with the golfer, ensuring they only have to concentrate on the game.”
